Job Summary
Bakery Supervisor at Freson Bros. Manning, AB: Lead daily bakery operations including measuring, mixing, scaling, and hand-moulding artisanal breads; operate bakery equipment ( mixers, rack ovens, proofer, bread slicer ); hand-mould bread varieties such as baguettes and boule; assist Bakery Manager with inventory, labour scheduling, ordering, and expense control; train and coach team members to meet operational standards; ensure quality, service, cleanliness, and merchandising standards; store food per safety policies; handle customer inquiries in the Bakery Manager’s absence. Requires at least 1 year of supervisory experience in bakery or food preparation, strong sourdough knowledge and pre-ferments (levain, poolish, sponge), familiarity with food safety regulations, ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, plus strong communication and a passion for leading others in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a bakery or food preparation setting
- Extensive knowledge of the principles of sourdough preparation, various baking methods, and food safety regulations
- Experience with pre-ferments: levain, poolish, sponge
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- A passion for leading others while providing an exceptional customer experience
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
