Bakery planner-scheduler

Job Summary
Conduct long-term production scheduling to fill customer orders, resolving conflicts and ordering raw materials to maintain output. Manage inventory levels for raw stock, finished goods, and packaging supplies while coordinating directly with the Purchasing group and vendors. Track current orders through distributor communications to ensure timely delivery, researching discrepancies and negotiating pricing to optimize coverage for changing trends and promotions. Execute new item set-ups at the plant by collaborating with support groups including PD, R&D, IT, and Regulatory/Compliance. Bachelor's degree preferred, with 1-3 years of purchasing experience and MRP proficiency required.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of prior purchasing experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent relative experience
- Ability to become proficient with multiple systems used throughout Meijer Manufacturing
- Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and/or ordering/scheduling experience
- Prior leadership experience
