Job Summary
Manage day-to-day department operations in a retail store by leading staff, ensuring full staffing, and meeting all company goals and key performance indicators. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for quality and condition, then store products appropriately. Lead teams through stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation, ensuring spoiled products are handled per guidelines. Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plans, manage labor control and overtime, and implement work schedules using required software. Maintain product familiarity, monitor department forecasts, and attend daily huddles and manager meetings. Develop and monitor department goals, ensure food safety guidelines are followed, and keep the department clean and well-stocked.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a varied temperature retail store environment
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to communicate in Spanish (depending on company location)
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience
- One-year supervisory experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
