Job Summary
As Bakery Department Manager, responsible for setting department standards for customer service, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance and profitability; coordinates delivery of the freshest, best quality product at a competitive price; ensures courteous, efficient service to customers and team members; recruits, hires, trains, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates department staff; determines department goals, schedules, and oversees pricing, inventory, promotions, and merchandising; maintains proper temperatures and storage procedures, and ensures equipment functionality and sanitation; conducts regular supervision and coaching to create a positive, customer-focused bakery environment; reports to District Store Director and Store Manager; requires 18+ and a high school diploma or equivalent; prior supervisory experience in retail or food service is needed to manage personnel and department operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year supervisory/leadership experience in a retail or food service setting
- Experience managing a team and scheduling
- Knowledge of sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety standards
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to manage inventory, pricing, and promotions
- Ability to recruit, train, and evaluate staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Proven ability to maintain department standards and profitability
