Job Summary
The Bakery Clerk is responsible for maintaining and operating the Bakery Department, which includes keeping shelves presentable and adequately filled, controlling freshness by coding and pulling out-of-code merchandise, accurately wrapping and pricing products, and following the cleaning and sanitation program. The Bakery Clerk must provide prompt and courteous customer service, answer phones, take special orders, assist in baking products, and assist in taking cake orders. This position requires strong communication skills, dexterity for wrapping and packaging, reading and writing skills for tagging products, and the ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
