Job Summary
Package, label, and price bakery products while monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls to maintain stock levels and quality. Adhere to food safety standards by stocking and rotating baked goods, assisting with preparing products, and maintaining displays. Promote sales through suggestive selling initiatives, stack pallets, and sort items into correct locations per efficiency standards. Greet customers, answer questions, and take orders by phone and in person while ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Operate digital equipment, meters, and calibrated scales; safely use tools like bread slicers and commercial ovens. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler certification required; minimum age 18.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales
- Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bread slicer, commercial oven, etc.
- Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Continuously required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to use strenuous finger or hand movements
- Frequently required to bend, kneel, squat, or stoop
- Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Attendance at work is required
