Job Summary
Greet every customer at the bakery counter, take orders, and assist with needs throughout the store. Check daily orders, set production timelines, and track retail output to identify tasks for co-workers. Decorate bakery items while staying current on designs, develop daily orders for bakers, and manage supply orders. Deliver and set up wedding cakes on site, communicate with the manager on displays and ads, and lead part-time employees by instructing and reviewing their work. Practice proper sanitation, answer phones promptly, and pitch in with special projects. Requires high school diploma, six months of experience, and ability to use sharp knives. Starting wage $16.00 to $20.00 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Employment contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
