Job Summary
Delivers daily conditions for at-shelf product availability, freshness, and value while offering product samples and assisting customers with special orders. Prepares, packages, labels, and displays products for sale, utilizing production planning tools to reduce shrink and ensuring proper temperature logs are retained. Maintains awareness of inventory conditions, reports discrepancies, and adheres to all local, state, and federal laws regarding food safety, USDA, and COOL. Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are met by inspecting equipment, identifying hazards, and enforcing lock-out/tag-out procedures. Promotes teamwork among associates and executes product recalls or withdrawals in a timely manner. Works varied shifts in a retail bakery environment, occasionally handling tasks requiring lifting up to 250 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Operate bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines
- High School / GED
- 0 -3 yrs minimum
- English
- Spanish
- Must be available for varied shifts
- Must be able to stand or walk on various types of flooring
- Must be able to utilize manual dexterity
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, smell and perform repetitive movements with both hands and/or both feet
- Must be able to reach at waist level or overhead
- Must be able to carry, push, or lift various loads up to the required weights listed
- Must be able to sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb up to 10 ft
- Must be able to twist back and/or neck
- Must be able to walk on a slippery or cluttered floor surface
- Must be able to work with hazardous equipment
- Must be able to be exposed to sharp objects
- Must be able to be exposed to loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions and other toxins
- Must be able to clean and use cleaning supplies and equipment
- Must be able to use general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, various material handling equipment, such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, shopping carts
- Must be able to use powered cutting equipment, such as a slicers, saws, grinders, various knives, various ovens, stoves, rotisserie, fryers, steamers, proofer, wrapping equipment
- Must be able to use baler/compactor
- Must be able to use general hardware tools such as a ladder, pliers, wire cutters, box cutter
- Must be able to wear Goggles, Gloves, Cutting Gloves, Fryer Gloves, Oven Gloves, Back Brace
- Must be able to pull 250 lbs
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs
