Job Summary
Bakery Assistant Department Manager needed at Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids, IA. Responsible for assisting the Bakery Department Manager to present fresh, high-quality bakery products at competitive retail prices and to provide courteous, efficient customer service. Duties include supervising bakers, cake designers, fryers, and clerks; scheduling production; ensuring product freshness and proper rotation; training new employees; maintaining sanitation and store guidelines; addressing customer issues; and contributing to department and store performance. Must be 18+, have a High School diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of related experience, and be able to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects. Employment is contingent on a pre-employment drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- More than one year up to three years of similar or related experience
- Supervisory responsibilities or experience managing others
- Ability to perform arithmetic and basic calculations
- Must be able to meet physical requirements (lifting, standing, etc.)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
