Job Summary
Baker is responsible for producing all sweet and savoury bakery products for both the bagged lunch program and daily menu service. The Baker, with support from culinary leadership, will manage production planning and quality standards to meet contract scope. The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with all meals and accommodations provided, travel to site locations, private room, Wi‐Fi, gym and shared facilities. Key responsibilities include producing scratch/pre-fabricated cookies, squares, pastries, sweets, savories, cakes, pies, dough preparation, ensuring food safety, completing HACCP/production logs, labeling and dating products, stocking and maintaining the FOH bakery area, cleaning, and receiving/storing supplies. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced camp kitchen environment, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to safety and inventory procedures. The role offers a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, site travel, and an hourly wage starting at $22.48 CAD. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Current Food Safe certificate is required
- Red Seal or other certification is an asset
- Experience in large-scale camp cooking
- Ability to produce weekly inventories
- Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
- Criminal Background Check
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit for extended lengths of time
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with little supervision
- High standards of cleanliness and organization
- Ability to complete HACCP and Production logs
