Job Summary
Conduct daily baking operations by preparing, baking, and frying department products while managing production schedules and timelines. Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting patrons, answering telephone orders, and assisting shoppers with product location and heavy items. Inspect incoming product quality, review shelf freshness, and pull items by stale date to maintain inventory standards. Operate bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, and fryers while adhering to strict sanitation and safety guidelines. Lead bakery clerks and write department schedules to ensure staff availability. Review signage for correct labels and address potential maintenance issues with equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent experience
- Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
- Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects
- Vision from more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
- Color vision
- Depth perception
- Field of vision
- Ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Must be able to copy data from one record to another
- Must be able to interview to obtain basic information
- Must be able to guide people and provide basic direction
