Job Summary
Baker to prepare a wide range of pastries including cobblers, cookies, cakes and pies. Responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, weighing flour and preparing dough, adjusting oven temperatures, decorating cakes with glazes and edible toppings, shaping dough for croissants and other pastries, preparing custom-made pastries for customers, suggesting new recipes, and managing inventory and production planning while complying with health and safety guidelines. Requires experience as a baker or pastry chef, familiarity with professional kitchen equipment, cake-decorating skills, strong time-management, a customer-focused attitude, ability to work early shifts, and culinary-school certification is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment (mixers, blenders, dough sheeters)
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Experience with cake decoration techniques
- Excellent time-management skills
- Team spirit and customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
- Culinary school certification is a plus
