Job Summary
The Baker will lead end-to-end bakery operations at a Dexterra workforce accommodations facility, overseeing night-shift production of bread, desserts, and all baked goods from scratch or par-baked ingredients. Responsibilities include supervising night-shift bakery staff, ensuring food safety compliance (FOODSAFE, HACCP), maintaining product quality and supply to service volumes, developing and following bakery/dessert menus, supporting dietary needs (allergen-aware recipes), restocking and shelf presentation, and collaborating with culinary leadership to align output with guest demand. The role requires culinary education or designation, a Food Safety certification, and 4+ years of high-volume baking experience with prior supervisory experience. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds, with a strong focus on cleanliness and attention to detail, is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Culinary education or designation

- Minimum 4 years of professional baking experience in a hotel, institutional, camp, or similar high-volume environment
- Proven experience preparing baked goods for large numbers of guests
- Prior supervisory or lead-hand experience, preferably on night shift
- Strong understanding of scratch baking techniques and large-batch production
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency under high-volume production demands
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
- Professional attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
