Job Summary
Baker-Breakfast Cook on a remote Alberta camp site reporting to the Chef. Duties include preparing breakfast, mastering scratch and par baking (breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, squares), assisting with meal prep, inventory management, and ordering. Supervises, trains, mentors, and directs kitchen staff; ensures food safety, daily/weekly/monthly cleaning tasks, and adherence to PPE and safety policies. Accommodates various diets (vegetarian, vegan, cultural, allergies), unloads groceries, and participates in site pre-access procedures. Must be willing to travel to transport sites in Edmonton or Grande Prairie and work night shifts; strong English communication and ability to lead a team are required.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years baker/breakfast experience
- Must supply own travel to transport sites located in Edmonton or Grande Prairie
- Red Seal Baker or Cook Certification an asset
- Post-secondary culinary education considered an asset
- Must have valid Standard First Aid certification and Alberta Health Services approved Food Safety Certificate
- Proven ability to lead a team
- Available to work a night shift
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Available to work rotations including 21-7 and 14-7
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Provide at least 2 professional work references
