Job Summary
Prepare, make up, bake, and fry all department products while pulling items from freezers or coolers and checking orders for daily production schedules. Lead bakery clerks with guidance and direction, inspect incoming products for quality, and invoice and put away items as instructed. Manage the department schedule to ensure coverage during the Bakery Manager's absence, re-merchandise shelf products, and remove outdated items. Maintain proper sanitation, follow Hy-Vee's dress code and hygiene standards, and answer phone orders promptly. This fast-paced role requires standing and walking throughout shifts with exposure to heat, flour, and equipment hazards. Starting wage is $17.00 to $21.25 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18+
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
