Job Summary
Baker on 3rd shift responsible for operating and monitoring the tank car baking process after coating, ensuring proper temperature control and accurate documentation. Supports equipment maintenance, supply management, and maintains a safe, organized outdoor industrial work environment while following safety and quality standards. Duties include starting the bake sequence, monitoring temperature per specifications, maintaining records, keeping work area clean, and reporting potential hazards. Must be able to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment and pass safety/quality requirements. Entry-level position with potential for growth within Marmon/U T L X.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Combined Basic Skills Assessment Test
- Ability to read gauges, rulers, and measuring devices
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
- Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals
- Strong focus on safety and quality
- Ability to work any shift, including overtime, in accordance with the union contract
- Dependable and reliable attendance
- Preferred: Experience in an Industrial Repair or Manufacturing environment
- Rail industry experience Tank car knowledge or experience
