Job Summary
Lead competitive intelligence for Amgen's Rare Disease Business Unit by monitoring the competitive landscape, synthesizing primary and secondary data into actionable strategic insights, and communicating implications to senior stakeholders. Manage external vendors and internal networks, facilitate competitive simulations and workshops, and coordinate intelligence collection at major medical congresses. Support cross-functional teams by defining business problems, developing integrated analysis plans, and presenting recommendations while adhering to strict legal and ethical guidelines. Some travel (15-20%) required.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Master's degree and 4 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Associate's degree and 10 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Some travel (15-20%) required
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD/PharmD/MBA) with a focus on life sciences and business
- Experience with in Life science consulting work in rare disease
- Familiarity with biopharma industry
- Relevant experience in rare disease via prior project work, disease area knowledge
- Prior experience in strategy/management consulting in the biopharma industry, roles of increasing responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analyze data to support critical business decisions
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills—able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
- Evident project management skills—able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and data sources
- Demonstrated analytical skills—understands the advantages and limits of different analytical approaches and studies
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment
- Strong understanding of the latest developments and trends in the rare disease space, key competitive dynamics and unmet medical needs
