Job Summary
Baggage Runner transports, sorts, and delivers passenger baggage within airport facilities to ensure timely movement between terminals and customer service locations. Responsibilities include transporting baggage between terminals and baggage claim areas, locating and delivering delayed or priority baggage, coordinating with airline staff and ramp teams, loading/unloading carts and equipment, verifying baggage tags and routing details, responding to time-sensitive requests, maintaining documentation, following safety, security, and operational procedures, inspecting carts/equipment, providing courteous service, and supporting operations during irregular periods and disruptions. Requires ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, ability to read/write English, pass pre-employment/background/drug checks, and HS diploma or GED; prior airline or baggage handling experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry baggage and equipment, frequently up to 50 pounds
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
- Basic communication and teamwork skills
- Previous airline experience (preferred)
- Previous baggage handling experience (preferred)
