Baggage/Package Handling Project Manager

Job Summary
Lead the new Baggage/Package Handling Group by reviewing specifications, supporting estimating efforts, and overseeing installation while managing engineering teams and subcontractors. Deliver large-scale projects across North America using existing controls engineering resources to design and scale automated baggage and material handling systems. Maintain strict adherence to internal and customer standards throughout the project lifecycle. Requires 5-10+ years in project management with experience on $5M-$20M+ projects, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and PMP certification. Must be able to climb ladders, walk a mile in 20 minutes, lift 30lbs, and carry a laptop while performing these duties on job sites.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical experience and leadership in baggage handling systems (BHS), Package/parcel sortation, or automated material handling/conveyor systems
- 5-10+ years in project management, with increasing responsibility and project scale (typically $5M-$20M+ projects)
- Background in engineering, installation, commissioning, testing, or controls integration for logistics/automation projects (at least 5 years leadership experience managing cross-functional teams)
- Proven track record managing subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software/controls.)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Controls, or related technical field)
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- OSHA, NEC (National Electrical Code), or other safety/compliance training relevant to industrial electrical systems
- Able to climb a 2-story ladder
- Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
- Be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site
- Able to lift up to 30lbs. without difficulty
- All of the above items to be accomplished while carrying a laptop computer
Desired Qualifications
- Airport/aviation or large-scale logistics facility experience
- Advanced degree
- PE (Professional Engineer) or EIT license
