Job Summary
Load and unload passenger luggage and cargo on and off aircraft, operating baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts and trolleys. Sort and route baggage to the correct flight and carousel while inspecting items for damage or security risks. Ensure timely delivery by adhering to safety guidelines and collaborating with security personnel and airline staff for special handling. Maintain cleanliness in the baggage area and record all activities per regulations. Work in various weather conditions, lifting up to 70 pounds, and perform any additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including written documents
- One year of customer service experience
- Ability to use electronic devices including iPads/Tablets, computers, and mobile devices
- Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to push and pull
- Must be able to work at elevated heights
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel
- Ability to hear and respond to the spoken voice and audible alarms
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
