Bagel Chef (Shop Manager)

Job Summary
Lead a scratch-based kitchen and manage full shop operations as Bagel Chef and Shop Manager. Oversee front- and back-of-house, drive P&L, food cost and labor optimization, inventory control, and sales performance while upholding culinary standards and DOH compliance. Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team, implement new initiatives and ensure exceptional guest experiences, brand representation, and adherence to safety and quality standards across all operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Department of Health and/or ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- 3–5 years of restaurant management experience, including full operational ownership
- Prior experience managing both front- and back-of-house operations
- Proven experience with hiring, scheduling, performance management, and employee relations
- Experience with inventory management, food costing, and labor optimization
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume, scratch-based kitchens preferred
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial and operational data
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- High attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments
- Comfort navigating multiple technology platforms and digital systems
- Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and lead through change
- Passion for food, hospitality, and brand-driven experiences
