Job Summary

Maintain stock levels and quality of produce and floral products to comply with company standards while promoting department sales and customer service. Work with produce personnel to train partners, schedule shifts, and direct daily operations. Co-manage inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels and review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data with the department manager. Inspect products for quality control and food safety standards, adhere to governmental labeling, and promote sales through suggestive selling and appealing displays. Cut and trim product, prepare displays, and ensure maintenance of stock conditions on racks and shelves. Check inventory on trucks, unload products, and ensure accuracy of ordering and paperwork. Provide customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and responding to complaints. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by adhering to safety procedures. Requires intermediate knowledge of produce operations, in-store ordering machines, and scheduling software. Must be able to operate a pallet jack, handle sharp objects safely, and work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler and Manager Food Safety certifications required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Food Handler certification
  • Manager Food Safety certification
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
  • Ability to handle objects gently to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
  • Ability to use an alphanumeric keyboard
  • Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
  • Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, and partners in written and verbal form
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
  • Intermediate knowledge of produce department operations
  • Intermediate knowledge of in-store ordering machine and inventory management processes
  • Intermediate knowledge of scheduling software systems
  • Ability to operate a manual or electric pallet jack
