Job Summary
Maintain stock levels and quality of produce and floral products to comply with Company standards. Work with produce personnel to promote department sales, profits, and customer service. Train and develop partners, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work in conjunction with upper management. Co-manage inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels. Inspect product for quality control and food safety standards; adhere to all governmental product origin labeling. Promote product sales through suggestive selling initiatives and appealing product displays. Cut and trim product using sharp knives; prepare and display product to ensure high quality presentation. Check inventory on trucks, unload products, and ensure accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork. Provide friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working environment by adhering to Company safety procedures. Requires intermediate knowledge of produce operations, scheduling software, and inventory management. Must operate manual or electric pallet jacks and handle sharp objects safely. Food Handler and Manager Food Safety certifications required. Minimum age 18 (21 for driving). Flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- One or more years of related experience
- Equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- 21 years of age or older (for driving)
- Food Handler certification
- Manager Food Safety certification
- Ability to operate a manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to handle objects gently to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to use an alphanumeric keyboard
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling
- Continuously required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Frequently required to bend, kneel, or squat

- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, or crawl
- Attendance at work is required
Desired Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of produce department operations
