Job Summary
Operate all machinery safely, including backhoes, tampers, and ballast regulators, to grade, redistribute earth, and move materials on railroad construction and maintenance projects. Perform pre-start and daily maintenance, lubrication, and documentation while locating underground services and adhering to grade standards. Coordinate machine actions with crew signals, lead teams, and execute incidental labor as needed. Some weekend work and travel are expected. Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience operating a backhoe
- experience in a railroad construction environment

- Ability and willingness to be trained as well as train others on the machine
