Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, skid steers, trenchers, loaders, and more to perform excavations for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer assets. Level, grade, and cut swales along roadways while lifting, moving, and placing heavy materials. Chip brush, cut trees, and operate chainsaws and trimmers as required, then load and secure equipment onto transport trailers. Safely handle and dispose of chemicals. Requires a valid Indiana Driver's License and CDL "A" with tanker "N" endorsement. Works Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm outdoors in varying weather conditions. Contribute to Fort Wayne's infrastructure as part of a skilled team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Indiana Driver's License
- CDL A with tanker N endorsement
- Certified Component Person: Excavation and Trench
- Certified Competent Person: Confined Space
- Close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs
