Backend Software Engineer - AI Neobank App (China)

Job Summary
Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app supporting insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel, and financial services. Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications, and operations. Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other partners while improving system reliability, observability, security, and performance. Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly, ensuring systems are practical, auditable, and ready for regulated financial products. Take ownership of production issues and long-term reliability, explaining clearly what you personally built versus team deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
- Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases
- Able to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality and risk
- Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams
- Strong English communication
- Must be based in China
- English is our main working language across global teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or regulated products is a strong advantage
