Job Summary
Build scalable web crawlers to harvest structured and unstructured data using custom frameworks and browser automation tools for JavaScript-heavy sites. Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices in Python and PHP, including RESTful APIs and internal tools via the CodeIgniter framework. Optimize crawling performance through concurrent execution and asynchronous programming while managing PostgreSQL schemas and query efficiency. Troubleshoot complex production issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps. Requires 3+ years of experience with Python, PHP, and PostgreSQL. Based in Pune or Chennai.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Deep proficiency with Python parsing packages (Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, LXML, Requests)
- Hands-on experience handling browser execution via Selenium, Playwright, or Pyppeteer
- Strong development experience in PHP and the CodeIgniter framework
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Strong foundation in designing Microservices and building robust RESTful APIs
- Ability to take a project from concept to delivery independently
- Strong communication skills to align with remote and local cross-functional teams
- A proactive mindset that thrives in fast-paced, continuous-improvement environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
- Experience with Git version control and logging, monitoring, and observability tools
- Familiarity working within Agile/Scrum frameworks using JIRA
