Job Summary
Backend Engineer on NordVPN's Payments Team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining APIs and services, integrating diverse global payment methods, and improving tooling and processes. Candidates should have strong PHP and Go experience, microservices background, solid API design and MySQL knowledge, and experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and messaging/data tooling (RabbitMQ, Redis). The role involves collaboration with QA, DevOps, security, and mentoring teammates, plus R&D to tackle challenging problems. The position offers hybrid work flexibility (3 office days and 2 remote) and the option to work from anywhere, with benefits including healthcare, time off, wellness programs, and company events.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience working with PHP
- Experience working with Golang
- Proven experience building microservices
- Understanding of OOP principles and good code design
- Understanding of API design
- Good MySQL knowledge
- Experience working with Git
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Redis is a plus
