Job Summary
Backend Engineer III on the CrowdStrike Detection Engine Platform (CDE) team. Lead design and implementation of core platform services that ingest, process, and route security events from different sources to various execution contexts. Drive architecture for the Detection Content Management Platform (DCMP/CMS) and enable content authors to treat detections as code with advanced CI/CD and DevOps tooling. Develop scalable, fault-tolerant microservices using Go and technologies like Kubernetes, Flink, RocksDB, and distributed databases. Contribute to the Unified Detections Management (UDM) system for a consistent detection experience. Serve as a technical leader mentoring mid-level and senior engineers, and collaborate with Product Management and other engineering teams to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps. Requirements include 5+ years of distributed systems experience, Go proficiency, cloud architecture, data streaming (Kafka/Flink), and knowledge of SIEM concepts. The role is hybrid based out of NYC with occasional office visits.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Deep expertise in one or more modern programming languages (Go preferred)
- Proven track record of architecting and delivering critical, highly available, and scalable platform services in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Extensive experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink) and distributed computing concepts
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity or SIEM principles, data models, and content/rule authoring lifecycles is a significant plus
- Experience in a Staff-level role, driving multi-quarter initiatives, and influencing technical direction across multiple teams
