Job Summary
Architect and build a HIPAA-compliant backend service using Golang, AWS, and DevOps practices while writing understandable, testable code focused on maintainability. Whiteboard fixes for scaling problems and execute them, then contribute to internal tools that improve the development process, manage users, and scale systems. Deliver on multiple priorities with little supervision and help fix issues when things break. As the first backend engineer, you will shape the company's culture and help disrupt healthcare by preventing vision loss and heart attacks.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a professional software engineer
- Golang
- DevOps (AWS)
- Agile, self-starter
- Capable of delivering on multiple priorities with little supervision
- Recruited, led, and inspired strong engineering teams at a startup or large company
Desired Qualifications
- Passionate about disrupting healthcare
- You are a thoughtful communicator with emotional intelligence
- Explaining technical concepts to product managers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you
- Scrappy and resourceful, but possess a strong moral compass
- Whiteboard a fix to a scaling problem — and then make it happen
- You can jump into situations with few guardrails and make things better
- You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability
- When things break — and they will — you are eager and able to help fix things
- Contribute to internal tools that help us improve our development process, manage our users, and scale our systems
- BS in Computer Science
- Python, Swift (iOS), React Native
- Familiar with ML, computer vision, PACS, and HIPAA
