Job Summary
LaunchDarkly is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to join the Flag Delivery team. You will build, improve, and operate backend services powering LaunchDarkly’s Flag Delivery systems, contribute to streaming and polling delivery models for SDKs, debug production issues, and help maintain latency, availability, observability, and operability. Collaborate with SDK, Platform, SRE, Security, and Enterprise teams, participate in on-call rotations, and learn the existing architecture deeply while making pragmatic improvements. The role emphasizes working with distributed backend systems, caching layers, concurrency, failure handling, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on real-time production behavior and AI-enabled engineering workflows. You should be curious about scale, failure modes, and operability, and bring ownership for backend or infrastructure work, maintainability, and dependable software. Qualifications include 5+ years of backend experience, proficiency in Go/Java/Rust, and demonstrated AI usage in engineering work.
Required Qualifications
