Job Summary
Backend Engineer, Data Platform responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Phantom’s streaming blockchain data platform to enable high-quality, scalable ingestion, transformation, and delivery of on-chain data. You will own critical platform functions and empower other product engineering teams by providing access to rich, accurate, real-time on-chain data. Responsibilities include developing scalable ETL pipelines, driving data quality and observability initiatives, architecting for high availability and low latency, designing data models and schemas, and collaborating with product, design, and other engineering teams. Strong background in Go/Node.js/TypeScript/NestJS/Kafka/Redis/PostgreSQL, data engineering, and Web3/crypto knowledge is highly preferred; the role supports remote work and flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Backend experience
- Experience with languages/frameworks in our stack (Go, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS)
- Experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines and data engineering solutions
- Experience implementing data quality frameworks, observability, and monitoring
- Web3/Crypto knowledge or familiarity with on-chain data, wallet integrations, or decentralized application patterns
- Ability to work independently and in a lean team environment
