Job Summary
Design, build, and iterate on frameworks that influence all aspects of the Asana product, developing new APIs that balance usability with capability to support the feature-rich web application. Analyze complex systems to uncover issues, root causes, and areas of improvement while championing code quality and best practices through example. Partner with product engineering teams to identify opportunities enabling faster development and collaborate on intuitive building blocks. Write clean, beautiful code striving to leave it in a better state than found, balancing moving quickly with producing quality, long-term maintainable code. This role is based in the Reykjavik office with an office-centric hybrid schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in-office; optional Wednesday remote; Friday depends on team).
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of BE experience working in large, well-maintained codebases writing and shipping production code
- Ability to learn quickly and transition seamlessly between different areas of a complex codebase
- Sound autonomous judgment when balancing moving quickly with producing quality, long-term maintainable code
- Focus on establishing and spreading high quality software engineering patterns
- Familiarity with React/GraphQL ecosystem
- Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
