Job Summary
Backend Engineer for Verkada's Access Control product line; join a small, dynamic team of firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to build cloud-managed access control systems for doors, schedules, and user credentials. Drive end-to-end ownership from initial idea to completion, tackle large, complex problems with a growth mindset, and collaborate in an agile environment. Role emphasizes delivering best-in-class products and experiences rather than just features, with opportunities to learn new technologies and contribute to major systems. Onsite five days a week in San Mateo, CA, with visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or science
- 3+ years of industry software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one common server programming language (Python, Go)
- Experience in scalable distributed system design, including databases, queues and blob storage
- Experience working in an agile team software development environment
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
