Job Summary
Backend Developer role focusing on building, enhancing, and maintaining mission-critical financial platforms with emphasis on performance, security, and scalability. Work with C# or Java, drive containerization via Kubernetes, develop and optimize backend services and APIs, collaborate with traders and stakeholders, participate in Agile ceremonies, uphold code quality through reviews and CI/CD, integrate core systems with third-party services, provide production-support troubleshooting, and contribute to frontend improvements using JavaScript/React (advantage). The team is based in Zürich within Markets IT, with a contract through an external payroll partner and potential extension.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years in backend development
- Proficiency in C# (and Java)
- Deep hands-on experience with MS SQL Server and MongoDB
- Experience with RabbitMQ
- APIs via gRPC and GraphQL
- Experience in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments
- Cloud-native development on Microsoft Azure
- Docker and Kubernetes
