Job Summary

The Back Office Manager oversees the smooth daily operations of the clinic’s clinical support staff, coordinating schedules, training, and policy implementation. Acts as a resource to pods/clinical teams, participates in planning and quality initiatives, supports hiring, monitors performance and compliance, and promotes safety and accessibility. Provides support to care providers as a Medical Assistant when needed, participates in the clinic management team, and ensures ongoing education and competency of staff. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, healthcare-management knowledge, and the ability to lead a diverse team within a pediatric-focused community health center.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience of at least two years in a similar or related position in a community health center or medical environment
  • Credentialed as a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed as a Vocational Nurse
  • Injection certification
  • CPR certification
  • Venipuncture/dermal stick certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and supervise staff
  • Experience with scheduling, training, onboarding, and evaluating staff
  • Familiarity with EMR and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery and management
  • Ability to travel locally as needed
