Back of House Manager (Live Performances)

Job Summary
Back of House Manager leads backstage and back-of-house operations during events, coordinating artist, promoter and touring crew requirements; manages dressing room allocations, hospitality and artist amenities; oversees loading dock schedules and venue access; ensures WHS compliance and incident reporting; collaborates with Production, Staging, Front of House, Security and Venue Management; oversees casual event staff and backstage personnel, and prepares operational reports for continuous improvement. The role requires a minimum of 3 years in the live event industry, hands-on leadership, and strong communication skills to support artists, crew and venue staff across high-volume live entertainment environments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in venue operations, event management, hospitality management or live entertainment
- Demonstrated experience managing teams in a high-volume event environment
- Strong understanding of backstage operations and event logistics
- Knowledge of technical production, staging or venue infrastructure
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions in real-time
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with artists, promoters and stakeholders
- Experience with WHS compliance and risk management
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
