Job Summary
Develop and enhance software for advanced Condition Assessment and Remote Monitoring systems using Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes. Design, code, and implement software upgrades and new utilities while managing relational databases and optimizing schema. Conduct rigorous software development testing in accordance with IEEE standards and implement processes to validate shipboard equipment data integrity. Create comprehensive software development plans and provide routine technical administration and hardware setup support. This role supports the design of sophisticated Condition-Based Maintenance systems for vital naval equipment within the NSWCPD.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science or equivalent. from an accredited college or university.
- At least 3 years of experience in computer design, software development or computer networks including software design.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Proven professional experience in software development, particularly with Go (GoLang).
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL).
- Strong experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
- Proficiency with version control using Git.
- Experience with API design and implementation using gRPC and GraphQL.
- Solid understanding of the Linux operating system and command line.
- Ability to obtain OS certification or complete approved related training within 180 days of hire.
- Successful applicants must either have an active government security clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance.
- Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance.
Desired Qualifications
- C/C++ experience preferred.
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of machinery lifecycle management software systems preferred.
- Familiarity with and have developed applications using the DoDAF standards preferred.
- A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, or SSCP certification preferred.
- Experience designing and building event-driven microservices architectures.
- Experience in industrial analytics, machinery diagnostics, or condition-based maintenance (CBM) systems.
- Experience with time-series databases (e.g, TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, etc.).
- Prior experience delivering Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions.
- Familiarity with U.S. Government or Department of Defense development environments.
