Job Summary
Maintain assigned caseloads by providing direct patient care, including assessments, individual counseling, group facilitation, discharge planning, and daily progress note completion. Submit licensure documentation, comply with federal regulations and confidentiality policies, and maintain professional medical records for all patients. Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and unit meetings as directed. Contact insurance companies for authorizations and link patients with aftercare services prior to discharge. Utilize walkie-talkie as campus responder and attend mandatory trainings and continued education courses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
- Diagnostic, assessment skills and case management ability
- Promote and enhance ones knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addiction
- Interagency collaboration
- Ability to facilitate a group/lecture
- Ability to set limits and enforce rules
- An understanding of boundaries and ethics
- Computer skills
