Job Summary
As a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in Tyler, TX, you will engage, support, and coach parents, children, and youth in child welfare to help them thrive. Responsibilities include developing rapport with children and youth, delivering goal-directed interventions to stabilize them during transitions, and completing progress notes within 24 hours after each session. You will maintain certification in the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS) or the Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA) updated annually. Preferred qualifications include certification in CANS or ANSA and experience with special needs populations. The role offers a hybrid work environment with flexible hours and opportunities to impact families through collaborative, trauma-informed care in multiple locations across Texas.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, or early childhood education or early childhood intervention
- At least one year of experience in a related field
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and youth
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, such as 3-9 PM, and weekends as needed
