Job Summary
B100 DT Upstream Technologist – fixed-term contract (3 years) based in Toronto, ON. Responsible for execution of upstream activities for drug substance, documentation and GMP compliance, participation in deviation investigations and root-cause analysis, training of personnel, IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities, equipment commissioning and maintenance, inoculum preparation, fermentation and purification steps, environmental monitoring, SOP/batch record management, and data reporting. Collaborates with MWS, Upstream, and Downstream units, supports SPC trend analysis, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Requires a college diploma with relevant life-science experience (minimum 3 years post-secondary plus 2 years related work) and knowledge of cGMP, QA/QC practices, aseptic technique, and documentation in a manufacturing setting. Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Deliverables include accurate production records, inspection readiness, and involvement in CAPA/Change Control processes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum (3) three years College diploma (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotech, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Science or equivalent) plus a minimum of (2) two years of previous relevant work experience.
- Preferred (4) four years Bachelor's degree (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotech, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Science or equivalent) plus a minimum of 18 months of previous relevant work experience.
