Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures for chest, abdomen, spine, extremities, and skull under physician direction. Prepare patients by explaining processes, addressing concerns, ensuring proper positioning, and applying shielding equipment. Operate fixed and portable X-ray units while strictly adhering to AERB radiation safety guidelines using lead and thyroid shields. Perform routine quality control checks on equipment, manage digital image storage via PACS, and maintain accurate procedure and exposure logs. Coordinate with radiologists for report preparation and handle emergency bedside requests promptly. Work in shifts with overtime pay and shift allowances available.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc in Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology or DMRIT from a recognized institution
- Valid AERB radiation worker registration / radiation safety certificate (mandatory)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in operating X-ray equipment in a hospital or diagnostic center
- Hands-on experience with both fixed radiography units and portable X-ray machines
- Sound knowledge of radiation safety protocols, AERB compliance requirements, and radiation protection practices
- Ability to handle patients of all age groups, including children and elderly with patience and care
- Good communication skills in Kannada, Hindi, and/or English
- Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergency imaging requests
- Physically fit to assist with patient positioning and equipment handling
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with digital X-ray systems and PACS preferred
