Job Summary
Clean and sanitize resident apartments and common areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods; operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment; strip, scrub, spray, and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces; pick up garbage and transport to designated areas; adhere to residence policies and procedures including safety rules; prepare documentation as required; respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities; attend in-service training and staff meetings; participate in the Quality Improvement Program; work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults; uphold ethics, integrity and the organization’s Code of Conduct; complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Good oral and written English communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with standard institutional cleaning techniques
- Previous experience in commercial / residential/ Healthcare cleaning and laundry procedures is desirable
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
- Proficiency in a second language is an asset
- Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (within six months) or be willing to obtain one
