Job Summary
Perform bench operations including filing, chipping, deburring, drilling, tapping, and reaming while bending pipes, attaching fittings, and lubricating moving parts. Wire hoists complete for testing and inspection conforming to N.E. code requirements, and use hand torches for heating and burning of metals to perform all welding requirements. Assemble small and medium-sized assemblies using wire cutting, splicing, soldering, and crimping, and strip and stencil electrical parts if required. Dismantle and reassemble units that do not function properly, gather repair parts, and identify repair orders. Move materials by hand, hand truck, or overhead lifting devices as designated by the supervisor and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work on assembly blueprints and electrical diagrams
- Must be capable of using all types of hand and power-driven tools
- Must be able to operate a variety of machines such as drill press, hydraulic press, and pedestal grinder
- Required to produce a quality part
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints and schematics
- High School diploma or GED
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience and/or training is a plus
