Job Summary
Azure Data Engineer to design and implement the target data model for risk accumulation, build Databricks-based ETL pipelines to migrate legacy data into a modern platform, integrate underwriting data into accumulation reports, develop long-running batch jobs for data transformation and snapshot management, establish data quality frameworks and automated validations, and collaborate with the Data Engineer and API Developer to ensure a reliable data platform for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with SQL and relational data modelling
- Proficiency in Python (PySpark, Pandas, NumPy)
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Lakehouse) or similar platforms
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines at scale
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, DevOps
- Strong problem-solving and structured approach to data architecture
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Nice to Have: Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure SQL); knowledge of insurance data structures; Databricks Feature Serving or Model Serving; data governance and cataloguing; experience in insurance/financial services; strong communication skills
