Azure Data Engineer - Remote, Latin America

Job Summary
As an ETL Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data integration processes primarily using Python (PySpark) within Azure Synapse Analytics Notebooks and Pipelines to ensure accurate and available analytical data. You will build data warehouses using an MPP SQL pool, extract data from REST APIs, SQL databases, and CSV files, implement data quality checks, perform performance tuning, monitor ETL jobs, document data flows, and collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data for insights. This role emphasizes security, governance, and scalable data architectures within a fast-paced consultant environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
- Certifications related to data engineering or data science (e.g., Azure Data Engineer) are a plus
- Proven experience in ETL data engineering with Python (PySpark) for data extraction, transformation, and loading from REST APIs, SQL databases, and CSV files
- Proficiency with Azure Synapse Analytics resources includingNotebooks, Pipelines, Linked Services, and Azure Key Vault
- Strong SQL skills (SparkSQL and MS SQL) and experience optimizing queries
- Experience with data integration best practices and tools
- Familiarity with Git (Azure DevOps)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of big data technologies, data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus
- Agile methodologies a plus
