Job Summary
Azerbaijani Linguist for Corporate Language Support Services (open evergreen requisition) to support current and future foreign language and linguistic requirements across YSG and TU. Responsibilities include interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction. Additional linguistic services may be required as needs arise; candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles across the YSG/TU portfolio as opportunities become available.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified/certified at CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III according to ILR levels and government requirements
- ILR level 2+ in English for CAT I/II; ILR level 3+ for CAT III
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations of nontechnical material (English<->foreign language)
- Consecutive and accurate interpretation for ongoing conversations
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Familiarity with local culture and customs of target language communities
- Willingness to live and work in harsh environments or temporary facilities as mission dictates
- Ability to function under high pressure and as part of a professional team
- U.S. citizenship or security clearance eligibility as required by CAT classifications
- Speak fluently in English and Azerbaijani, including regionalisms and slang
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and Azerbaijani related to government missions
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
