Job Summary
Azerbaijani Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor provides web-based language instruction focused on Azerbaijani language, culture, and regional expertise to improve speaking/listening proficiency and meet POI-based curricula. Responsibilities include delivering modular online instruction across listening, reading, writing, and speaking, developing teaching materials, conducting ad hoc tutoring, maintaining a professional online learning environment, taking attendance, generating weekly progress reports, grading assignments and assessments, coordinating with Site Lead or POI analyst to address curriculum gaps, and applying modern methodologies (e.g., CL-150/Blackboard) to support instruction. Requirements emphasize hardware/software readiness (computer, webcam, headset, SMS-capable phone, reliable internet), strong English language qualifications, native/near-native Azerbaijani proficiency, demonstrated language-education experience, and eligibility to work at Joint Base Lewis-McChord with proficiency measures such as ILR/ACTFL/OPI assessments.
Required Qualifications

- Experience in language and cultural education
- Measurable past performance in improving student speaking and listening
- Thorough understanding of customs and culture related to target language region
- Native or near-native language capability in target language
- English language qualifications including ILR level 2 or TOEFL/TOEFL iBT scores or ECL or ACTFL OPI
- Target language qualifications with ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High or higher demonstrated via OPI or ACTFL-certified interview or DLPT
