Job Summary

Transport, remove, deliver, and collect hazardous wastes from customer sites, loading and unloading trucks while operating vacuum trucks, box trucks, and other equipment as needed. Respond to environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents, train derailments, marine fuel spills, and weather event responses involving wind, ice storms, forest fires, and flooding. Coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and Environment Canada during incidents, performing chemical assessments and advisory services alongside heavy equipment and water blasters. Complete work-related documentation and reporting, participate in job-specific and health & safety training, and adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related Ontario legislation. Maintain confidentiality and report workplace hazards or accidents. Weekend work and on-call rotation may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma minimum
  • Certification from recognized Truck Driving School
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License
  • Overtime as required
  • Weekend work may be required
  • on call schedule in effect on weekly basis
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Strong work ethic
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident, consistent decisive personality
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required
  • Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
  • Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a variety of truck and equipment including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and any other equipment that fits their license on site if necessary
