Job Summary
Conduct scheduled food pickups and deliveries between donors, the warehouse, and community partners across the GTA using straight box trucks, tractor-trailers, or other fleet vehicles. Safely couple, inspect, and secure trailers, including air brake and electrical connections, while performing daily circle checks and adhering to all safety standards. Represent Second Harvest by building positive relationships with donors and partners, ensuring food is handled and transported in compliance with safety and food handling requirements. Load and unload products, often involving manual lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintain accurate documentation for all routes. Collaborate with the team to support efficient, equitable operations while navigating busy urban routes and adapting to changing daily demands.
Required Qualifications
- Valid DZ and/or AZ driver's licence
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Clean driver's abstract (minimum 3 years)
- Proven ability to perform pickup and delivery functions
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to deliver routes safely and efficiently
- Confident, defensive driving
- Strong understanding of the Highway Traffic Act
- Consistent track record of safe driving
- Adherence to Health and Safety standards
- Comfortable navigating busy, urban routes and tight delivery locations
- Positive, respectful approach to every interaction
- Strong customer service skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to represent Second Harvest with professionalism
- Effective communication with dispatch, team members, donors, and community partners
- Comfort in an active role that includes climbing in/out of the truck

Desired Qualifications
